CAF Computers began business as D & J Gallagher in 1986, installing specialised software and hardware into businesses. In 1990 after 5 years of phenomenal growth D & J Gallagher bought the Sydney-based company: CAF Computers (Australia) Pty Ltd.

The purchase of and subsequent renaming to CAF Computers (Australia) Pty Ltd led to being awarded the exclusive Australian distribution rights for CAF Computers (a Taiwanese Brand) and in the same year CAF Computers (Australia) became a major computer equipment supplier to state and local government.

CAF Computers remains one of the primary suppliers to the NSW government's education sector and an active supplier to NSW's small business sector.
